Robert Miller (Crew chief): Rob is an Instructor of Emergency Medicine at Harvard Medical School and an attending physician at North Shore Medical Center and Massachusetts General Hospital. He has previously been a crew chief for Patrick during his 2005 Solo RAAM attempt, as well as his successful Solo RAAM finish in 2007. He is also an avid bicyclist and triathlete.
Gregory Planchon (Videographer): Greg is a videographer, living in Montpellier, France. He has founded his own agency 5 years ago. He loves traveling and meet people from different backgrounds. He sees RAAM and Patrick’s project as a great opportunity to make a documentary using different angles (extreme race, pushing the limits, science, countryside, human aspect).
Jerome Pruneau (the veteran) : Jerome has been with Patrick on his 2 previous solo RAAM in 2005 and 2007. Besides doing things like navigation, massage, cooking, motivational speaker, and cracking jokes every 2 minutes, he has written a daily report (in French) which has been a great success. This race is crazy and it’s no surprise that Jerome feels like a fish in water during RAAM.
Maite Balda (Psychologist): Maite is a Psychology major. As an exchange student at Boston College during 2008-2009 she collaborated as a research assistant for Lisa Feldman Barrett’s “Interdisciplinary Affective Science Laboratory”. She currently lives in Madrid, Spain where she works in Juan Pedro Nuñez’s research on perception. Her research interests are all within the area of Cognitive Neuroscience, specifically processes related to memory, perception and emotions. This summer, she will follow the bike race in order to gather data examining how physical stress influences a person’s memory ability. For the remainder of the summer, she will work with Elizabeth Kensinger to analyze the data gathered during the race.
Anne-Cecile Autissier (crew member and wife): Anne-Cecile works as a gym teacher at the International School of Boston (formerly Ecole Bilingue) in Cambridge, MA. Despite a busy schedule between her work, and taking care of her children, she finds time to run marathons. New York City 1998 was the first one. Since then, she ran Paris, Boston, Cape Cod and Philly. She will use her RAAM 2007 experience to make sure Patrick stay on target for a 10-day crossing.
Sylvie Gori (Driver and cook): Sylvie is originally from Quebec, a small part of France on the American continent. She’s been living in Los Angeles, CA for 15 years, and moved to Boston several years ago. She works as a teacher at the International School of Boston. She organizes during the summer road-trips for teenagers all over the United States. She is looking forward for another RAAM adventure.
Aude Abrial (Doctor): Aude Lives in the Guadeloupe Island since 2 years. She is pediatrician, specialized in neonatalogy at the Pointe-a-Pitre hospital. She loves travelling, plays tennis and has no problem doing night shift at the hospital. Only tennis won’t help her at all during this RAAM adventure! She is very excited being part of this great adventure and will do everything to help Patrick crossing the finish line! |
